Mahilan Appalam & Pickle House began at Mahilan Illam on Kannathal Street in Okkur, a village near Sivagangai in Tamil Nadu. What started as jars pickled for family and neighbours has grown into a small kitchen that ships natural homemade thokku and pickle across India.
We still cook the way our grandmother did — in small batches, with cold-pressed sesame oil, sun-dried spices and absolutely no preservatives. No shortcuts, no machines standing in for hands.
